29th February was a land-mark for many in the diocese of Jinja, being ordinations day for the year 2020 and also the 6 newly ordained priests were released for a month long holiday, so to say a honeymoon time. It was at 10 am t
he Saturday morning when the procession began with a throng of Christians who came from different corners of the diocese and other dioceses to witness the ordination of six of our brethren into the order of priesthood. Among whom are priests as far as Masaka, Fort-portal, Tororo, Soroti, Lugazi well as from congregations. There were also priests and religious from many congregations. All this was in the seminary grounds of St Gonzaga Gonza on their day of opening the seminary. This was the fourth year of existence.
The new priests include:
- Fr. Charles Kasadha, from Namirali Parish: thanksgiving mass at Nakivumbi on 7th March 2020
- Fr Osuna Silver Owori (OSO) from Kakira Parish:Thanksgiving mass at Iganga on 1st March 2020
- Fr Isiko Ronald from Buswale Parish: Thanksgiving mass at Namaying on 4th April 2020
- Fr Gerald Muto from Wesunire Parish: Thanksgiving mass at his home in Wesunire on 21st March 2020 Kakooge at Mr Simon Mulyabise at 10:30 am
- Fr Denis Ngobi Wanzala from Budini Parish: Thanksgiving masses at Budini parish and home (14th & 15th) at 10.00 Am
- Fr Julius Kaziba from Busowa parish: Thanksgiving mass at Nambaale Busowa parish on 28th March 2020 at 11am
On this day, the brides were to start their monthly holiday after which they get appointments to where they are to work in different parishes.
On this day of ordinations, Bishop Charles Martin Wamika announced the withd
rawal of two priests from the parish of Namirali and Katigondo Seminary, that is Fr Tumwebaze Thomas and Fr Henry Jude Mbazira respectively for studies in Italy specifically this year as a request from the seminaries for these priests to get ready to help in the seminary after their further studies. Fr Emmanuel Olupot too is going on scholarship to Rome.
This, year the New Seminary St Gonzaga Gonza at Iganga is to have the first products for Senior Four, since the seminary started almost 4 years ago.
ON 3rd MAY 2020 WILL BE WORLD COMMUNICATIONS DAY ON WHICH THERE IS A SPECIAL COLLECTION ALL OVER THE DIOCESE. THIS IS ASCENSION DAY. PLEASE KEEP ALERTED!

This is the last Senior four in the History of the seminary.
